"Family" descent
A quiet 8 km canoe course accessible to the whole family.
The departure is from our base in Agonès, near Brissac and Saint-Bauzille-de-Putois. The descent then takes you along the Hérault to the Vernède dam, where a shuttle will pick you up.
Allow about 2 hours of canoeing, to which you can add picnic, swimming or sunbathing breaks on the small beaches along the river.
"Adventure" descent
This 15km descent takes you along the river between Saint-Bauzille-de-Putois, Laroque and Ganges, in the heart of wild landscapes typical of the Cévennes.
It takes about 4 hours of paddling. Plan the day to enjoy it to the fullest, with swimming, picnic or sunbathing breaks on the natural beaches.
"Sporty" descent
The route is located between Ganges and Saint-Bauzille-de-Putois and passes through the village of Laroque.
Punctuated by numerous rapids, inclines and choppy passages, this descent is ideal if you are looking for a little more action on the river.
It takes between 1h30 and 2h of paddling, or about 3 to 5 hours in total with swimming or picnic breaks.
Your canoe rental in Ganges includes all the necessary equipment for a seamless experience.
To participate in a canoe trip, you must be at least 6 years old and know how to swim 25 meters.
Our prices are designed for families: children from 6 to 10 years old benefit from a reduced rate of €12, while the adult rate applies from 11 years old. Discounts are also offered for the youngest when they board a 3 or 4-seater canoe.
Group rates are also available : a 10% discount is applied for groups of 10 to 19 people and a 20% discount for groups of 20 people or more. These discounts only apply to adult rates.

Yes, it is mandatory to know how to swim. Participants must be at least 6 years old and able to swim 25 meters. Even though our courses are accessible to families, navigation is on a natural river and compliance with safety instructions remains essential.
We provide you with a safety vest adapted to your size, a paddle and a waterproof bottle to keep your belongings dry during the descent.
We provide all the necessary equipment: canoe or kayak, paddle, safety vest and waterproof container to protect your belongings.
For your part, remember to bring:
- closed shoes suitable for the water
- a cap or hat
- sunscreen
- a picnic if you wish

During your canoe trip on the Hérault, you will sail through the heart of typical landscapes of the Cévennes and cross several emblematic villages of the valley. Departing from our base located in Montplaisir in Agonès, the routes will take you to the vicinity of Ganges, Laroque, Cazilhac, Brissac and Saint-Bauzille-de-Putois.
All along the river, you can enjoy a preserved natural setting, between cliffs, natural beaches and small Cevennes villages that border the Gorges de l’Hérault.
The canoe descents start from our base in Montplaisir in Agonès, located a few minutes from Ganges. Depending on the route chosen, you then navigate on different portions of the river between Saint-Bauzille-de-Putois, Laroque, Cazilhac and sometimes to the sectors near Brissac.
These routes allow you to discover a wild and unspoilt part of the Gorges de l’Hérault, with quiet areas to enjoy the landscape and some more dynamic passages to add a little sensation.
Yes, pets are welcome at the base.
For the canoe descent, however, it depends on the course and the navigation conditions. Do not hesitate to ask our team for advice before departure to check if the descent is suitable.
If the weather conditions do not allow a safe canoe descent, we offer two solutions:
• A refund for bookings made online
• Postponement of your descent to another date

Yes. Our canoe base in Ganges has tables and chairs with umbrellas, as well as naturally shaded areas under the trees, by the river. A pleasant setting to relax before or after your canoe or kayak descent.
