Location de canoë sur les Gorges de l'Hérault

Our 8 km family course

The ideal family canoe and kayak descent

Discover one of the most beautiful parts of the Gorges de l’Hérault, thanks to this 8 km long route.

With this canoe trip near Montpellier, come and relax by taking a walk on a calm and enchanting part of the river. Particularly suitable for children and beginners, you can introduce your little ones (from 6 years old) to canoeing, in complete peace of mind.

The course starts from our Montana canoe water sports centre in Agonès, near Saint Bauzille de Putois. It then descends to the Vernède dam where a shuttle will pick you up. Allow about 2 hours of canoeing, plus picnic, swimming and sunbathing stops.

Une famille en route pour une descente canoe kayak

During this route along the wildest and most natural part of the Gorges de l’Hérault, you will discover the suspension bridge, the bishop’s mill, the Seranne massif and many other things…

Let yourself be surprised by the beauty of the landscapes of the lower part of the Gorges de l’Hérault. The wildest part, far from noise and rural pollution. Descend at your own pace, with family or friends, on this 8 km initiation course, during which you can stop on the sandy beaches or jump from the rocks.

Practical information on canoeing

The departure is from our pier located between Saint Bauzille de Putois and Agonès, on the departmental road 108, in the hamlet of Monplaisir. If you arrive by car, you can park for free in our car park.

When you arrive, our team will take care of providing you with all the appropriate equipment: life jacket, paddles, waterproof containers for your personal belongings (and of course your canoe!).

She will also give you some instructions and advice to approach the descent with serenity and confidence. You can also ask us any questions you may have.

In addition, you will enjoy full access to our base: showers, toilets, snack bar and gelateria…

At the start of the 8km route, you will cross the village of Saint Bauzille de Putois which is home to the famous Demoiselles cave. You will first pass under the suspension bridge before attacking the small rapids of the “Rocher de la Tortue” as well as those of the “Surprise” towards Brissac, before arriving at the Vernède dam.

All along the way, you can stop on small sandy beaches for a picnic or jump from the many rocks. You will also see the Seranne massif as well as the Virgin of Notre-Dame du Suc.

The finish is at the Vernède dam in the commune of Brissac. A shuttle bus will be at your disposal to take you back to the base effortlessly. You can then take advantage of our facilities to take a good shower and refuel at the snack bar. A picnic area is also available if you have your snack planned.

To go canoeing, you must know how to swim at least 25 meters. For each canoe or kayak rental, we provide the necessary equipment. Helmets and vests are disinfected between each descent.
